This vest has been an absolute life saver this summer. My working Cocker Spaniel came with me to France and I was very concerned about how she would deal with the heat (33 degrees). I decided to invest in this, whilst its not cheap I cant sing its praises enough. It fit her perfectly (I looked at a lot of reviews and from what I can see those who say it doesnt fit generally have over weight Dogs) this is made for sporting dogs and I can honestly say it was perfect on her.
Bonnie was perfectly comfortable wearing it, and it didnt inhibit any movement or restrict her in any way. It stayed wet for a long time and I saw a noticeable differenxe in her behaviour and comfort when running around.

I didn't want to spend this kind of money on a dog product but O.M.G. All the 5 star reviews paid off and everyine was totally right about this vest. My 10month old goldendoodle hiked for almost 3 hours in 89 degrees Florida heat and still had spunk at the end. I wet it with cold water every 45min or so and he went swimming with it at one point. He didnt mess with the vest at all despite it being slightly heavy. Hes 50lbs and still growing so i got the large but i did have to alter it about an inch on each shoulder. Hand stitched it so i can pull out the atitches once he gets bigger.

I dont often write reviews - unless I feel like Ive been ripped off - but this thing is too good not to. I have a 3 year old male Belgian Malinois and if I dont exercise him daily he will drive me nuts until I do. I have one of those plastic ball thrower things and I run him pretty good. He likes to cool off in a puddle when he gets a chance and my wife is not real keen on having him in the house until I wash him off. I saw this vest and debated getting it because I didnt figure he would tolerate wearing it. When I received it I tried it on him to check the fit and, sure enough, he tried to take it off. The next day I wetted it down, put it on him and immediately threw his ball. He went for the ball. After a good workout I started to remove it and HE DIDNT WANT ME TO TAKE IT OFF until he had totally cooled down! Honestly - he loves this thing and so do I.

My Alaskan Shepard loves this vest, now she go out for a walk even when it hot and still stay nice and cool. Stays wet for a long time and also keeps her cool for a long too we was out of about 2 hours and it was still working when we got home. An absolute life saver.

Got this for my 7 year old, 150 lb. Newfoundland. Size XL. She measured 42 inches and the chart said XL went up to 40 but it was fine and not snug at all. Seemed to work really well. We typically don't go for our daily walk unless the temperature is below 80 and/or low humidity so that meant some late night walks - or none at all on some days. I followed the directions and soaked it in cold water. Clipped right on her with no problems whatsoever. It was just at 80 and breezy when we went out for our 30 minute walk. It seemed to really help. You can't say it put a spring in her step but the vest actually felt as cool when we came back as when we put it on (the wicking action from the breeze?) and she was much cooler under the vest. Perhaps on hotter days/longer walks I will bring along a jug of water to refresh it. But I think it was helpful.

My dog and I were really looking forward to this. We tried both the L and XL but couldn't find the size that fit (Golden Retriever). The "L" was way too small and the "XL" was too baggy for her to be romping around. When I measured, my dog was an in-between size and the recommendation was to size up. Ended up returning unfortunately. That being said, it did seem well made and returning wasn't a problem.

I was a bit sceptical at first, but I used it on my frenchie over the summer and you could see the difference. He was happy and bouncing around like a pup, putting hand under the coat, his temp was nice and cool even in 30deg C+
Note that even though it helps to keep your dog cool, make sure they have plenty of water still.

Got this for my dogs because the the other cooling vests we used are much bulkier. We have used it on hikes, on the boat, trail walking, and on the beach so far and it has stood up to all. I got it in orange so my 2 pits will stand out on a trail and it has worked beautifully. The top later has protected them from sun beating on their backs usually causing sunburns under their light coat of fur. The bottom keeps cool for at least an hr without needing a refresh. It has held up nicely to running through brush and is easy to wash. It fits much better under harnesses and backpacks than the swamp cooler and my dogs can swim in it without getting bogged down. One of my best purchases ever!

Given how the vest works (drenching in cool water and then evaporates over time while wearing) I am not sure I can suggest this vest for a humid heat however, for dry heat (Texas, Colorado) this vest has been perfect for our dog. We have a small (but hearty) black Havanese whose hair/fur gets really hot on his back. This seems to tire him out and he looks for shade frequently. We have used the vest in Texas for the first time and he had a real spring added to his step. So then we tested it out while in Colorado for multiple 5-7 mile hikes. To me, this vest made ALL the difference. It works just as advertised and is worth every penny!! If you have a dark colored dog or live in a hot/dry climate I would highly recommend. One other thing - the vest while hiking got REALLY dirty but we just ran it in the washer on a quick cycle with a tiny bit of soap and air dried and it was like new!

Bought this just as the heat wave started for our holiday and because it was a close fit, it kept her cool and kept her calm. Bright colour too. When it dried off, just re-soaked as per instructions. Expensive but worth going that bit extra, good quality product and would recommend for hot running hounds. Used when travelling i.e. in a car especially for more than an hour. Delivered in good time.

We have a small/medium black dog that gets really hot on very warm days in the sun. We went to Cornwall during the recent heatwave and knew walking around could be an issue.
The vest worked well, but during some really hot days, we ended-up buying bottles of water or finding shops or pubs for a large glass of water to the keep the vest wet. Other dogs were panting heavily, meanwhile our dog was cool and happy. Putting a hand under the vest, her fur was cool without being wet or damp, so highly recommended. The downside, it is very expensive for what it is.
One other point, we wanted a vest that was also light in colour to help reflect the sun's heat which added to us choosing this vest.

Seems to work. I haven't had it long enough to get a definitive answer. I live in Florida and I use it on a 12 year old Spaniel. I used to walk hime 4 miles but now it is just 2 miles because of his age. He seems to keep up with me a little better, now. But, he still wants a few 30 second breaks now and then. Read the sizing instructions to make sure you get the proper fit for your dog. I have a 41 pound Spaniel and the "medium" fits him perfectly.

Well, we got to test this on a short break in the UK where the temperature were consistently 25-30 degrees Celsius for four whole days. Honest it was.
Pros:
Kept the dog cool for 3hr+ in the car
Easy to use and refresh
Is compact, easy to store away when travelling
Cons:
Not a great fit. It bunches at the shoulders for our dog
Shows the dirt

As described. Followed the size guide and it fits perfectly on my Springer Spaniel. Product seems of very high quality. It covers her chest to cool the lungs and heart which is exactly what you want. My dog loves to run around fields and through brush and under hedges etc and I learned that coats with velcro fasteners or anything bulky or loose don't last two minutes. So I wanted something that fits close to her body and under a harness and this is exactly that. It is lightweight and very easy to put on and off. I have yet to test it in the field so will update when I do.

Great idea to keep dogs cooler in the summer heat. I like the design of this one - less bulky than others I found. Also love the bright colour! My dog is very happy wearing it and it seems to work well to cool him down. It's quite a snug fit - my greyhound measures 25 inches at the chest and the medium is almost tight so maybe go up a size to be safe.

We live in AZ and our girl does not tolerate the heat well in the summer, especially now that she's gotten older. We have cooling bandanas that work okay, but she was still getting overheated on our morning walks. We decided to give this a try since nothing else was helping that much. We just got this vest last night and have already used it twice. It made such a difference for her! We went out last night for a walk that was over a mile when it was still 90 degrees outside and she never got hot or slowed down at all. She wouldn't have made it a block in 90 degree weather without this vest. It stayed wet the entire time and we couldn't believe how cool the part was beneath her chest even in the heat. I wish we bought this years ago! Our girl is 35 pounds with a 25" chest and we ordered her a medium. It fits really well!
